Anyone can recommend a restaurant. It all depends on your personal tastes and many people find a few places they enjoy and tend to return – again and again. You go back because you know the food will be good, or you like the fact that they’ve always got a game on the big screen, or that the candlelight softens your features (or those of your date). Whatever it is that brings you back to a particular place can also be what keeps you from finding a better restaurant. Take a look around Kansas City. You might be amazed at the variety of restaurants available.

Kansas City – once a bustling cow town – is today a metropolis of shops, attractions and restaurants. Though it’s big enough to provide just about anything residents and visitors could possibly want, Kansas City has somehow managed to retain the comfortable feel of the typical Midwestern town. But if you think you’re going to come to Kansas City only for steak and potatoes, think again.

The Skies, located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, is one of the major restaurant attractions in Kansas City. Here you’ll find your steak, prime rib and more, but in an awesome setting. If it’s all about the food, this is the place to be. If it’s all about atmosphere, this is also the place to be. One word of caution – if you’re afraid of heights, you should probably request a seat far from the windows. This is a revolving rooftop restaurant and you’ll have a continuously changing view of Kansas City.

The American Restaurant is the city’s only 4-star eating establishment. But what do the stars actually mean? It’s a way to tell that you aren’t going to get re-heated dinners served by indifferent wait staff. In fact, if you want wonderful food served in an elegant atmosphere, this is your place. Add the excellent service and you’ve got a dining experience that will bring you back often.

Piropos Restaurant is our personal favorite. Piropos offers the taste of Argentina which is very American Midwestern. The foods of its capital city, Buenos Aires, are grilled meats, seafood, fresh salads and vegetables. Argentinean dining is very cosmopolitan with a touch of Spanish, Italian, French and other ethnic foods. The food is simple, not particularly spicy, yet flavorful. Strongly European in background and culture, Argentineans enjoy dining in a generally relaxed atmosphere where conversation and gracious dining go hand-in-hand. Piropos Restaurant, now located in Briarcliff is located at 4141 Mulberry, Kansas City, Missouri 64116.

If you’re looking for something less formal, you’ve got plenty of options. Savoy’s Grill or P.F. Chang’s China Bistro each offers great food in a relaxed setting. You’ll find specialty items, like the famous Kansas City Cheesecake, at the Cheesecake Factory, or have that famous Kansas City steak at the Hereford House Restaurant.

Whether you’re looking for a fine dining experience or just looking to feed some particular craving, you’ll find just what you’re hungry for at one of the many Kansas City restaurants.
